Most popular PC games by monthly active users (MAU) – Global

In May 2023, the top PC games in the world by monthly active users (MAU) were Minecraft, Fortnite, The Sims 4, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II/Warzone 2.0. Minecraft claimed the #1 spot as the most popular game in the world on desktop and laptop in May, taking the lead from ROBLOX.


Minecraft and Fortnite each moved up one spot in the ranking, while ROBLOX dropped five places to reach the #6 position in the top 20. The Sims 4 moved up three places to take the #3 spot. Other titles in the top 10 PC games included League of Legends, Valorant, Grand Theft Auto V, and Rocket League.

Trending games and biggest movers

The top games ranking on PC saw a few notable changes in May, even as the top games stayed largely the same. The biggest movers in May were ROBLOX, FIFA 23, World of Warcraft, and Fall Guys.

  • ROBLOX dropped five places to take the #6 position in our ranking.

  • FIFA 23 rose an astounding seven places, landing it at #15 on the list.

  • World of Warcraft snagged the #17 spot after rising three places.

  • Fall Guys edged into the #20 position after rising four spots.

Game publishers performance

Electronic Arts was the only publisher to feature more than two games in May’s top 20 PC games ranking.
